We are seeking a psychologist to be part of the Neurodevelopmental Team at the Kari Centre. As part of our Neurodevelopmental Team, you will play a pivotal role in providing diagnostic assessments and developing plans for children and adolescents presenting with complex neurodevelopmental conditions alongside mental health concerns. Conditions may include ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and occasionally Intellectual Disability. Joining a well-established and highly respected team, you will contribute significantly to the well-being and outcomes of tangata whaiora, with the added opportunity to offer therapeutic interventions for secondary mental health concerns if desired. You may be required to support other parts of the service as needed at times also.

Our assessment processes follow a multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach, collaborating with Paediatricians, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Nursesand Social Workers. Your responsibilities encompass not only assessments but also delivering constructive feedback and recommendations to whānau, rangatahi, and professionals. Additionally, you will facilitate onward referrals to other experts and community agencies, overseeing applications for carer support and other entitlements.

At the Kari Centre, we are committed to the continuous development of our dedicated staff and aim to have monthly trainings within the neurodevelopmental team.

We seek applicants with previous experience of working within a CAMHS setting and have undertaken neurodevelopmental assessments, or applicants who are emerging practitioners with child and adolescent mental health and neurodiversity as professional focus.

We will consider applications from a psychologist who holds professional registration with the respective boards and with a current Annual Practising certificate.
