MediTrain is a registered Private Training Establishment (PTE) with New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA), and have been providing quality first aid courses to our community including childcare centres, aged care facilities, community groups and diverse workplaces since 1991.

We currently have a
First Aid Trainer position in Wellington region available.

We are seeking a person who has a passion and dedication to make a positive impact on our community through delivering First Aid skills and knowledge.

We offer:

- a casual position - typically work 1 to 2 days a week (including weekends)
- a competitive hourly rate ($35 to $40 per hour, depending on experience)

More information:

- working hours are full days (8am to 5:30pm including preparation time)
- we pay 10 hours per day (including time to complete assessments)
- instructor training will typically take 4-5 days (not consecutive days), and is paid
- we have a strong emphasis on staff development, and working together in a collaborative team

The key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver courses professionally, using MediTrain's course programme
  • Maintain training resources and equipment
  • Punctuality with running the classes and submitting student assessments
  • Good communication with MediTrain office staff

The successful applicant will be/have:

  • Either (a) work experience in prehospital emergency care, nursing or ambulance or (b) work experience and/or knowledge in education, training, or similar
  • Work experience for at least 3 years
  • Outgoing and dynamic personality to deliver engaging, informative and interactive classes
  • The ability and confidence to interact with all students
  • Great communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to work unsupervised, with our support
  • A full driving license and able to travel in Wellington region
  • Physical capability to handle the equipment required for the course
  • Enthusiasm, motivation and dedication to share First Aid skills and knowledge to make our community safer
The position would suit trainers wanting to work across a range of industry sectors.

It may especially suit an applicant who is semi-retired from either ambulance or nursing who would like to make a difference to people's lives with your knowledge and experience.
