Responsibilities

  • Tshaped developer with indepth experience in C# development and can support all aspects of the SDLC.
  • Take responsibility for building clean, readable, understandable and maintainable systems.
  • Research and maintain awareness of changes in the C# technology stack used by Hill Labs so changes that impact stability can be addressed.
  • Work alongside the solution architect to devise innovative architectural solutions that conform to architectural principals and guidelines.
  • Ensure the code delivered by the team follows both best practices and the architectural design.
  • Mentoring junior developers or new development members in the team.
  • Actively share your code with the team ensuring others know how to support it.
Actively participate in Integration testing sessions.

  • Complete unit testing and achieve acceptance criteria before handing to QA's.
Implement and debug systems and/or services.

  • Constructive participation in the troubleshooting of production services 'owning it' if in area of expertise.
  • Write effective unit tests that help solidify design and provide confidence to ship to production.
  • Take a pragmatic approach to development constantly asking if refactoring offer a Return On Investment (ROI).
  • Work within and actively contribute to the agile team.
  • Raise concerns proactively e.g. when work could potentially not be completed in the estimated timeframe.
  • To work with honesty and integrity whilst taking ownership of tasks and ensuring these are delivered within the agreed timeframes and to the highest possible standard.
  • Take a proactive approach to seeking assistance when in doubt.
  • Undertaking other duties as required to ensure the safety and continuity of service delivery to the business, as identified by the Software Development Manager.

Educational and Experience required:

  • Solid understanding of how to create microservices using C# and the Entity Framework.
  • Proven experience working with a complex, integrated multiplatform environment.
Keeps abreast of current industry trends and techniques.

  • Must show ownership of the system code for both their own work and the team they are working within.
  • A solid understanding of unit testing
  • Great SQL skills with significant exposure to MariaDB or similar.
  • You are passionate, energetic, personable and committed to your career.

  • Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Take ownership for work undertaken.
  • Understand that code is an investment and as such it needs to have a ROI.
