What we do


Sparklers was developed by the - All Right? - campaign in response to requests from the education sector for tools to help them support and promote the wellbeing of young Cantabrians.

Sparklers is now a wellbeing toolkit of over 80 activities to be used at home or in education settings to help tamariki regulate and manage their own emotions, grow wellbeing literacy, and create a wellbeing culture in the classroom.

Sparklers utilises social media and an e-newsletter to communicate with thousands of Sparklers users throughout Aotearoa.

_ The Role:

_

Where you fit in**Sparklers is aspiring to engage Māori learners and build bicultural capacity in all tamariki and kaiako.
In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing Māori leadership to the Sparklers kaupapa;
  • Reviewing existing Sparklers materials and providing recommendations for development or redevelopment to better reflect a Māori worldview, and that is embedded in and reflects whaakaro Māori
  • Māori ways of thinking, knowing and being;
  • Supporting the creation of content for Sparklers communication channels;
  • Building Sparklers relationships with schools and other potential partners.

Your skills will include:

  • Health promotion, mental health promotion, or experience in the educations sector are highly desirable;
  • Relationships and networks in relevant areas (e.g. kaupapa Māori organisations, Iwi, education settings) or abilities to build these are highly desirable;
  • Fluency in Te Reo Māori and tikanga Māori is highly desirable;
