Are you curious about a career within the health sector and not just a job? This is an exciting opportunity where you will be a valued team member, providing key cleaning support and assistance with minor maintenance duties onsite at our transitional housing properties.


For most of the time, you will be responsible for upkeep tasks such as cleaning and servicing rooms as they become vacant, small repairs and upkeep of living and outdoor areas to keep it functional for our Whaiora.

You will get an exposure to the support we offer that is so individual to each housing site and every Whaiora.


We are proud of what we achieve as a team for those vulnerable when they most need us, and to provide accommodation that meets our standards, you will play a key part ensuring the reporting of any damage and/or issues and you will work closely with the Tenancy Manager assisting with room inspections.

This is a permanent full-time position based in Wellington, working Monday to Friday.

Duties of the role could include, not limited to:

  • Liaise with delivery companies to be on site for the delivery of new furniture for the setup of a new house or unit.
  • Perform cleaning activities within the housing unit.
  • Assembling new furniture as required.
  • Relocating items from storage to the site when needed.
  • Relocating furniture to different units/sites as required,
  • Undertaking any other heavy lifting that may be required.

You should be somebody who enjoys working creatively, autonomously and work effectively in an interdisciplinary team being able to communicate easily with a variety of people.

You will need to think on your feet, remain calm under pressure and really encourage our clients along their journey.


Ideally, you will possess the following qualities:

  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to use your hands in a skilful way.
  • A "can do" attitude and a willingness to assist in a team environment.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organising, prioritising, and time management skills.
  • Full clean New Zealand driver's license.
