Aerowork is a 100% owned subsidiary of Ravensdown Ltd and is engaged in aerial application of fertilisers as an essential service for hill country farming and as such, plays an important part in ensuring New Zealand farmers can produce food sustainably. The accurate placement of fertiliser enables our customers to maximise farm productivity whilst reducing the environmental impact by keeping fertiliser out of waterways and sensitive areas.

About the Role:

We're on the lookout for a high-calibre Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join our multi-disciplined Engineering team in Whanganui. This role is dynamic and challenging, where no two days are the same. From carrying out engine repairs in the field to completely rebuilding an airframe in the hangar, this role will allow you to utilise all your skills and experience. Ravensdown Aerowork is Part 145 and 148 certified with the capacity and capability to repair or rebuild almost every component used on our Cresco aircraft. Additionally, we design, develop, and implement aircraft modifications to continually improve and modernise our fleet.

From Northland to Otago, we operate the largest fleet of turbo-prop powered agricultural aircraft in New Zealand. Equipped with the latest aerial spreading technology you will be part of a team which is at the cutting edge of developing and delivering smarter technology to farmers. With a strong vision of future development, we focus on continuous improvement through innovation, collaboration, and promotion of a strong team culture. As a subsidiary of the Ravensdown Co-operative you will be well supported and receive considerable investment in your personal development. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the heavyweights in New Zealand's agricultural aviation industry.

About You:

You'll need a passion for what you do, your attention to detail will be second to none, and you will be able to cope with pressure at times. The ability to exercise your excellent problem solving and decision-making skills, combined with above average engineering abilities, will help you succeed. Maintaining the flexibility to perform engine hot end inspections one day and rebuild a flap the next is key.

If you're ready to reach your full potential and want to work in a supportive team of high performing engineers; this is the position for you.

  • Candidate must have current eligibility to work in New Zealand
  • NZQA Certificate of Aeronautical Engineering level 4, NZ CAA certified Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence, or equivalent qualification/experience (at least three years)

  • Excellent benefits package (5% superannuation, medical insurance)
  • Tool allowances, $0.75 per hour
  • Work in a highly motivated team focused on quality
  • Generous investment in your ongoing training and development
  • Occasional travel throughout beautiful rural NZ
  • Great company culture
  • Hourly rate between $31 - $39 per hour depending on skills and experience
