Counties Manukau District is looking for an advanced clinician physiotherapist with an interest in working in the fast-paced ED Geriatric service.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the geriatric population and enthusiastic about working in an Interdisciplinary team? We have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist to join our Health of Older People ED geriatric services based at Middlemore Hospital.

The EDGS is a dedicated geriatric service aimed at fast tracking and supporting geriatric patient flow from ED. The EDGS service comprises of a Geriatrician, registrar, clinical nurse specialists and physiotherapist.

As our EDGS PT, you will be responsible for the assessment and management of a clinically and culturally diverse client group who present to ED. You may also at times provide support to our inpatient Health of Older People Rehabilitation teams.

In ED, you will work closely with the clinical nurse specialist to assess referred patients for their mobility and strength. You will work together as part of a team in planning best outcomes with the patient.

There is scope for involvement in service development projects, staff education and quality improvement work.

You will be professionally supported by the interdisciplinary team as well as the Ops Manager and Professional Lead PT. We are committed to your continuing professional development through supervision, support and formal/informal training.

Essential:

· Registration with the NZ Physiotherapy Board, with a current APC

· Minimum six years clinical experience

· Previous experience working with geriatric population

· Full, drivers licence

Preferred:

· Post graduate qualification

· Previous experience working in ED
