Te Tūranga - The Role


We have an exciting opportunity to join our innovative Software Team as a Senior Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our software releases.

We are looking for someone who can be our resident testing guru, leading efforts to establish and enhance our testing practices, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, and steering the entire release testing process.


Your mission within this role is to maintain the utmost software quality while also driving the evolution of both manual and automated testing strategies within the team.


The duties of the role will include:

  • Take charge of ensuring the overall quality of new software releases, ensuring each one meets our defined quality standards.
  • Become the primary point of contact for all matters related to testing within the Software team and act as the goto expert in testing methodologies, best practices, and tools, offering guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive release test plans, tailored to project timelines and objectives.
  • Oversee the progress of testing activities, ensuring they are completed on time and meet our quality criteria.
  • Collaborate closely with other teams, including Development, Product Management, and QA, to facilitate and coordinate crossfunctional testing efforts.
  • Lead and participate in test execution activities, both manually and through automated test scripts. Collect and collate testing results, creating detailed reports that highlight issues, risks, and recommendations for improvements.

Ō pūkenga - About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a bachelor's degree in computer science, Software engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) As well as:

  • Proven experience as a Test Engineer, with a strong background in software testing and quality assurance.
  • Expertise in test planning, strategy development, and test case design.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective crossfunctional teamwork.
  • Ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and adapt to evolving software development practices.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Some experience with automation / scripting languages.
