About the Company
A top tier civil engineering company who takes on a wide range of infrastructure projects. They are looking for an Estimator with a successful track record of securing large-scale project awards.

Main Duties

Your responsibilities are to:

  • Prepare subcontract and materials inquiries and review subsequent quotations.
  • Build up an accurate cost estimate for the permanent works in an elemental and analytical format.
  • Prepare an accurate cost estimate for the preliminaries resources required to carry out the works in accordance with the agreed program and engineering requirements.
  • Check labor and plant resources accumulated in the cost estimate balance with those derived from the tender program.
  • Prepare and present the commercial aspects of the tender to Senior Management for adjudication and approval.
  • Prepare the commercial tender for submission to the client.
  • Prepare and present the commercial handover documents to the contract delivery team.
  • Liaise with construction teams to ensure output and resource data collected providing feedback for future tenders.

Requirements:

  • Ideally has a Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or constructionrelated qualification.
  • Ideally would be able to use Candy CCS for estimation.
  • Has a background with previous demonstrated experience in successfully estimating and winning largescale projects by managing an established team.
  • Experienced in pricing one or more of the following civil projects:
  • Jetties and wharfs and other marine civil infrastructure.
  • Bridges, culverts and piling works
  • Roads and Earthworks
  • Water Infrastructure pump stations, reservoirs, pipework, treatment works.
  • An indepth appreciation of engineering techniques, construction processes, and their suitability.
  • Ability to assess site conditions from a physical inspection and interpretation of intrusive surveys and soils investigations.
  • Through a team, the ability to manage multiple tenders concurrently or singular large value tender.
  • Practiced in quantification and familiar with standard measurement methods and standard forms of contract.
  • A practicalminded handson approach coupled with excellent communication and people skills.
