The Opportunity - Dual role


An exciting opportunity has arisen for either two part time roles or one full time made up of.3 in Post-Acute Community Rehabilitation Service and.7 in Community Occupational Therapy.


We are looking for practitioners with minimum 3 years post registration and relevant clinical experience to provide rehabilitation as part of the Post-Acute Community Rehabilitation Service and working in our community team.


The Post-Acute Community Rehabilitation Service (PACR) is a collective of services primarily dedicated to supporting clients immediately post their acute care episode.

The PACR service aims to deliver the following initiatives consistently across the four localities (Palmerston North, Feilding, Tararua and Horowhenua) in the MidCentral region:

  • Rehabilitation in the Home (ACC Non-Acute rehabilitation)
  • Postacute Community Stroke Rehabilitation
  • Health Recovery bed therapy interventions to support slow stream rehab prior to returning home or receiving inpatient rehabilitation services.
  • Transitional care beds to support Protection of Personal and Property Rights (PPP&R) process
  • Voice therapy to support stroke rehabilitation, Parkinson disease and gender affirming intervention
The primary focus of the Occupational Therapy position in the PACR team will be Stroke Rehabilitation.


The Community Occupational Therapy role is focused on working with individuals in the community and would suit experienced occupational therapists with ENABLE accreditation for wheelchair, postural management and housing modifications, however training will be given to therapists wanting to gain experience and accreditation in these areas.

Applicants will need to have a current annual practicing certificate and a full current NZ drivers licence is essential.
