Fluid Recruitment is proud to partner with a specialist consultancy in their search for a Principal Civil/Structural Engineer to join their team based in either Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington, or Christchurch.

The Company

Our client is a well-established provider of a range of specialist consulting services to their partners in the Energy sector, working across Civil & Structural, and Electrical Engineering fields. Their Civil & Structural team specialises in the Power sector, providing end-to-end solutions from feasibility studies to detailed design, through to project & contract management. Their projects are focused on power & infrastructure upgrades including new substation builds & refurbishments, transmission & distribution line builds, and more.

With long-standing offices in Auckland and Christchurch, along with recent openings in Wellington and Tauranga, the team are rapidly growing to continue supporting New Zealand's developing infrastructure needs.

The Role

Reporting to the Civil & Structural Team Lead, you will be a Section Lead, taking lead on the most complex and interesting projects presented to the business. This will involve engaging with key clients, utilising your proven civil structural experience to scope developments and understand the project's challenges. You will be supported by the power team and internal CAD designers to curate and implement the most efficient and effective solutions.

This will see you primarily overseeing and working on our clients' HV Substation facilities and their related infrastructure across New Zealand. On a day-to-day basis, you will undertake building analysis and utilise project management or leadership experience to effectively execute analysis and designs. This presents the unique opportunity to partner with market leaders in New Zealand's growing Energy sector with your strong Civil Structural background.

About you

Coming from a Civil Structural background you will be a driven technical expert, excelling in your respective field. Bringing extensive experience working across a range of building analysis and structural design, you will be well versed in utilising with MicroStation, AutoCAD, or similar design software.

This may see you as somebody who is currently working in an energy or infrastructure consultancy in a senior or principal position, with desire to define your career in a leadership position. Alternatively, you may be a skilled Structural Engineer, with experience with large concrete structures such as oil & gas sites, wastewater plants, or dairy sites.
