Mō te tūranga | About the role

The role will primarily be focused on undertaking:

  • Scoping, investigation, and Capital works.
  • Project management of the operations led capital programme for drainage and flood protection infrastructure across the Lower Waikato and Central zones.
  • Procurement of goods and services, design support, budget and schedule management.
  • Applicating Integrated Catchment Management's project management framework.

You can

  • Successfully deliver multimode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
  • Demonstrate good and timely decision making that keep the organisation moving forward.
  • Exhibit successful planning and prioritising of work to meet commitments aligned with organisational goals.
You have

  • A minimum of 5 years project management, project scoping, planning and implementation of flood control and drainage management.
  • Knowledge and experience of managing compliance with Resource Management Act.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety in Employment Act (and its successors).
  • Experience with Contract Management.
  • Knowledge and experience in land surveying.
  • Proactive and proven success at building relationships and resolving issues with internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Experience

  • Technical civil engineering qualification (NZCE or BE (Civil).
  • Other similar type qualifications will be reviewed based on applicability, skill, expertise and/or knowledge, or relevant experience.
Desirable Experience

  • Health and Safety.
  • Project management.
  • Willingness to work towards higher level of expertise in the above areas (certified or experience based).
