The role provides high level support to the Clinical team and wider team of Public Health Service.

  • Provide backup for administration of the vaccination database and recertification process.
  • Provide high quality customer focused reception services as the first point of contact for the unit as required, but specifically at break times and as leave cover.
  • Lead administrative projects as the need arises.
  • Support and provide cover for other administrative functions as the need arises.
  • Assist with database change/development/improvement and data capture for the health protection team and wider public health unit as appropriate.
  • Back up for Asbestos Portfolio
  • Rheumatic fever portfolio assistance where requested from portfolio lead
  • Areas of administration may include but are not limited to the areas of:
  • Filing, archiving, support for presentations and flowcharts
  • Document review and proof reading
  • Letters and mail outs as appropriate/required
  • Reporting as required
  • Meeting administration
  • Database management and data entry
  • Communicable Disease allocation data (to HPO's)
  • Other duties as may be required by the team manager from time to time.
  • To provide support for Communicable Disease Support Officers and provide cover when required.
  • To assist with distribution of correspondence as directed by Medical Officers of Health or Manager.
  • Specific assistance and support in COVID19 related work where required.

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Experience working within a public health unit, or a regulated environment
  • Experience in an administration role, preferably within health
  • Expert knowledge of a range of information technologies, databases, document and reporting suites
  • A current full driver's licence for both manual and automatic vehicles
  • Ability to communicate with diverse people/cultures, organisations and/or consumer groups
