Culture change and system maturity are a high priority for us And did we mention plans to implement safety 2? There's lots to keep you interested in this role as you support the delivery of strategic health and safety business objectives and provide health and safety advice in high risk and high compliance business areas.


This is a varied role that will work closely with the Health and Safety Leader to support the development and rollout of business health and safety systems that enable Bay Venues health and safety policies and procedures.

As an experienced practitioner you will also proactively also take the lead in auditing existing business systems to ensure continual improvement.


The role will also work alongside other key stakeholders within the business to drive proactive engagement in health and safety by building constructive and collaborative relationships across the organisation and with Bay Venues external stakeholders.

Primarily this will be with our Capital Programmes Team to support construction activities for existing facility renovations and development of new facilities.

The role will also support the ongoing operations of those facilities with our Facilities Management Team.

This is a fulltime role based at Mercury Baypark.

Normal days of work are Monday to Friday, however because our business operates outside of these hours there may need to be some flexibility to work on weekends from time to time.


Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Developing health and safety systems
  • Delivering health and safety projects
  • Providing advice and support on complex problems for managers and stakeholders
  • Mentoring and leadership Monitoring and reporting

Here's what will ensure your success:

  • 3+ years health and safety experience
  • Tertiary Health and Safety Qualification e.g. H&S Diploma, NEBOSH IGC or equivalent)
  • Auditing training and experience A full, clean NZ driver's license

It would be great if you also had:

  • A health and safety diploma
  • NZISM Practitioner membership Experience delivering health and safety projects and managing change
