About the role:
- Effectively supervise the Cut & Crease Department to ensure the effective utilization of resources necessary to meet high standards of quality & productivity required.
- Ensuring machinery used is kept in a good safe condition & are operated in a safe manner.
- Ensure staff are trained in safe work methods & this is demonstrated in their work
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in line with the company's loss prevention programme.
- Ensure production is maintained at optimum running speeds & that a high standard of quality is achieved.
- Liaise with the production planner regarding the scheduling of production and availably of assets and resources.
- Trouble shoots & diagnoses problems & makes adjustments as required.
- Order all cutting forms and required tooling, ensure tooling is available to meet the required production dates.
- Carry out running repairs to cutting forms in used on Cut & Crease Machines
- Check all work carried out by outside suppliers.
- Become familiar with company HS policies and ensure they are followed and implemented
- Keep confidential all privileged information to customers, staff & company.
What do you bring?:
- 10 years + Die Cutting and industry experience
- Problem solving and decisionmaking skills
- Positive attitude with a good work ethic
- People management experience, particularly in a unionised workforce
- Training skills and ability, able to manage a team from apprentices to experienced staff
- The ability to use Die Cutting machines used in the process
- Highly organised, in order to keep the production running smoothly
