Groundworks Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Groundworks Supervisor specializing in paving and drainage to join our team.

As a Groundworks Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate all aspects of groundworks projects related to paving and drainage, ensuring efficient and high-quality completion within the specified timeframes.

Your expertise in supervising and managing a team, along with your in-depth knowledge of groundworks processes, will be crucial in delivering successful projects.

• Project Planning and Coordination:
• Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed work plans, including schedules, resources, and materials required for paving and drainage projects.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, to ensure smooth project execution.
• Conduct site visits to assess project requirements, provide technical guidance, and address any concerns or issues that may arise.
• Team Supervision and Management:
• Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of groundworkers, ensuring adherence to project plans, health and safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, monitor progress, and provide guidance and support when needed.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs to enhance team performance.
• Quality Control and Compliance:
• Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that paving and drainage work meets industry standards and client specifications.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve any defects, deficiencies, or deviations from project plans.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for the team and subcontractors.
• Material and Equipment Management:
• Coordinate with suppliers to procure necessary materials, tools, and equipment required for paving and drainage projects.
• Manage and maintain an inventory of materials and equipment, ensuring their availability and proper storage.
• Monitor equipment usage, maintenance, and repairs to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily progress reports, incident reports, and records of work completed.
• Compile and submit relevant paperwork, such as permits, licenses, and compliance certificates, as required by regulatory authorities and clients.
• Provide regular project updates to the project management team, highlighting milestones, challenges, and any changes to project scope or schedule.

• Proven experience as a Groundworks Supervisor, specifically focusing on paving and drainage projects.
• Extensive knowledge of groundworks techniques, processes, and best practices.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively.
• Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting project plans, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various project sites as required.
