We are looking for a journalist with a reputation for breaking original stories and the necessary experience to lead RNZ's climate coverage:

  • Be as comfortable reporting live on breaking news as you are in providing background analysis
  • Be skilled in multimedia, and adept at driving content which meets the needs of a wide audience across Aotearoa
  • You will have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the science of a changing climate and policy responses
  • You will be committed to ensuring Te Tiriti O Waitangi is incorporated in our coverage
  • You will be committed to the highest standards of journalism and be confident working across multiple platforms including radio, digital, visual, and social

Ōu Pūkenga - About You

  • A deep understanding of the science of a changing climate and local and central policy responses
  • Proven track record of original climate stories
  • Experience delivering analysis on climate issues on air and online
  • A wealth of contacts
