Reporting through to the Executive Dean - Faculty of Commerce and Technology.

The Head of School – Computing plays a crucial role in providing management and leadership to the School of Computing lecturers and support staff, across the Hawke's Bay, Tairāwhiti, and Auckland campuses, including the delivery of EIT qualifications at partner institutions in China.

Key Responsibilities for the role include: Lead the development and implementation of the School of Computing Annual Plan, achieving performance targets and objectives, as designated.

Negotiate with the Executive Dean for resources necessary to fulfil School objectives and targets domestically and internationally.
Monitor and manage income, operational and staffing expenses, and resources in accordance with faculty targets.

In association with the Auckland Campus Director, EIT ZYU Deputy Dean, Programme Leader, and Programme Coordinators, develop programme delivery plans that are consistent with programme aims, philosophy, curricular approach, policies, and procedures.

Provide coordinated leadership and support for academic staff members and students in all undergraduate and postgraduate Computing programmes.
Build and maintain excellent relationships with external stakeholders, particularly EIT's Joint Education partner ZYU.

Our Ideal Candidate will have:
A relevant qualification (Master's or equivalent would be an advantage) or equivalent level of knowledge.
Proven experience in leadership and management.
Knowledge and experience of curriculum and programme development within undergraduate and postgraduate Computing education frameworks.
Knowledge and experience in working with international partners, and in particular the delivery of programmes in China.

An understanding of the principles of cultural safety, a commitment to the development of a culturally safe working and learning environment, and a commitment to parity of student success.
