About the Role

  • This position works closely with one other person responsible for delivering a highquality payroll service to all our New Zealand based employees.
  • Reporting to the Country HR Manager this is a key position within our high achieving HR/Payroll team.
  • Day to day responsibilities include systems maintenance and administration, processing employee data, and preparing the weekly, fortnightly and monthly data for our outsourced payroll provider to create the payroll authorisation and bank files. You'll be working closely with our Finance team around authorising and processing payrolls and preparing related reports.
  • This is a fulltime role, however there is a degree of flexibility for the right person who is willing and able to work around our payroll processing dates and times.
  • We do have a few complexities in our payroll that will keep you interested. There are two legal entities and a good number of part time variable hours employees paid fortnightly or weekly based on timesheets. We also have sales staff paid retainers and commissions and quarterly sales bonus payments and monthly salary payments. Then there are all the usual payroll maintenance tasks that come with a company of our size and complexity.

About you

  • In order to be a success, you'll need to be confident enough to hit the ground running and have a keen eye for process improvements. You must have top class computing and communication skills and proven payroll experience. A high level of data accuracy and speed are essential.
  • Coupled with the necessary technical skills, having the right fit for our team is also a top priority. This won't be a problem for someone with loads of positive energy, tons of initiative and the confidence to jump in and get things done.
