Furthermore, this role provides an opportunity to provide technical support on investigation and design of active mode programmes, and emerging requirements in micro-mobility.


This is a casual opportunity working on an as and when required basis and would suit someone pursuing a Master's or higher qualification.

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Bachelor's Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Engineering.
  • Ideally 2 year's relevant experience in aspects of traffic engineering including analysis, investigation, planning and delivery.
  • Accreditation with relevant professional body desirable.
  • Full and current NZ drivers licence with no major infringements (must be able to drive a manual vehicle).
  • Fluency in the use of crash analysis systems (CAS) and ability to interpret and analyse information.
  • Experience in use of traffic simulation tools preferred.
  • A good understanding and appreciation of the workings and functions of local government, including current and future business drivers and statutory requirements
This role is in our Traffic Engineering North / West team and is based at 20 Viaduct Harbour Avenue.
