MercyAscot is New Zealand's largest private surgical facility with 22 theatres across several Auckland sites. Due to considerable growth in our organisation, including the construction of a new hospital wing at Mercy Hospital, we have relocated our Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) off-site to a brand new purpose built facility in Parnell.

We are looking for an experienced Central Sterile Services (CSSD) Senior Coordinator to support our CSSD Manager, the CSSD Trainer and our Technician & Trainees to ensure the effective day-to-day operation of all CSSD services, with a particular focus on coordinating the instrument loans process.

This is a permanent full-time position involving variable 8 hour shifts between 6:30am and 12:00am, across Monday to Friday and occasional weekends.

Key responsibilities are:

  • Coordination of the day to day operations of the team
  • Seamless running of the instrument loans process
  • Support the training & development of team members
  • Promote an effective, productive and positive team culture
  • Monitor & maintain standards of practice & accurate documentation

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Level 5 NZSSA Certification
  • Minimum 2 years Sterilising Unit experience
  • Experience with CSSD tracking systems (L Trace preferred)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
