The Civil Aviation Authority is the regulatory arm of our organisation and the Aviation Security Service is the nationwide provider for aviation security.
We're looking for an experience Principal Advisor to support our growing research and data analytics function.
Sitting within the newly created Information, Research and Analytics team, this role will provide intellectual leadership and oversight of the core processes, techniques, and change initiatives required to support the analytics function.
This will include formulating data collection plans, establishing connections with data analyst networks across our agency counterparts and industry partners, and identifying opportunities to automate reporting processes and products.
Taking a system view, the role will have oversight of the broad data picture and be able to make connections between ideas and people.
The role will also take the lead in supporting our team's transition to the new enterprise technology platform and spearheading changes to the way we work with our analytics stack.
Ultimately this role determines how we utilise data to inform our decisions and make data accessible to support safety outcomes in aviation.
Ko tāu e kawe mai ai | What You'll BringYou are a systems thinker, with a proven track record in delivering high-quality data analytics or business intelligence reporting to advance and support a risk-based and intelligence led approach.
You will have worked extensively with analytics stacks, ideally R, SQL, Power BI, GIT code repository, and/or Machine Learning.You will be proactive in building relationships and support for your work, working collaboratively with stakeholders to identify requirements, and communicate complex concepts and evidence.
You will be able to look across a system, connecting ideas and insights to advance evidence-based decision making, ensuring that the information that is collected is well-informed and takes a broad and inclusive perspective.
We're looking for someone who can work with others to develop future possibilities within the research and data analytics space - then plan and manage the changes needed to bring those possibilities to life.
You will have experience working with senior managers and others to lead the intellectual direction of the team.As a safety regulator, the Civil Aviation Authority exists to enable safe flight for social connections, and economic benefit for New Zealand.
