About the role


The Team Lead Business Solutions will assist the Manager Business & Systems Analysis with the day-to-day management of up to 20 Business Analysis resources, including both contract and FTE staff.

This role is anticipated to be a mix of leadership responsibilities and ICT project-based business analysis work. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong grasp of modern Business Analysis delivery methods and excellent leadership skills.

Key accountabilities of this positions include:

  • Work with the Manager Business & Systems Analysis and the ICT programme delivery community to define resourcing and skill requirements and aid matching resource needs with internal or external capability.
  • Contribute to allocation of resource management to projects from the centralised pool of Business Analysts.
  • Develop and maintain an uptodate view of business analysis skills and capability across the Practice, aligning with the requirements of the ICT programme and proactively identifying and addressing capability or skill gaps.
  • Ensure direct reports have the appropriate skills, knowledge, and experience to deliver the required work and expected results.
  • Review programme and project business analysis artefacts to provide quality assurance and ensure adherence to business analysis frameworks and standards.
  • Establish relationships with external providers and recruitment of business analysis resource as required.
  • Assist in the continual development of the business analysis framework, methodology, standards, and toolkit of business analysis artefacts for the portfolio.
  • Act as an escalation point for any business analysis practice related issues that may occur.
  • Execute analysis tasks related to the development and implementation of ICT solutions. This is a small (20%) component of the position.
  • Facilitate workshop and group discussions with a range of audiences including senior executive stakeholders.
  • Act as a senior practitioner within the Business Analysis practise

  • Demonstrated capability in planning, leading and managing BA activities within largescale, complex ICT project environments.
  • Proficiency in system analysis techniques, supporting system design and adhering to recognised methodologies & practices.
  • Experience in identifying and estimating the work break down tasks and deliverables that fall into the BA practice area for a project.
  • Able to build rapport and trust with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, governance groups and senior leadership teams.
  • Experience coaching, consulting and mentoring in business analysis techniques e.g., logical data model, business process modelling, story maps.
  • You will hold either a tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
