Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity


National Women's Hospital, Auckland has an exciting opportunity for two (2) Fellows to join our MFM subspecialty training programme in August 2024.

The Maternal Fetal Medicine service is located at Auckland City Hospital with over 7,500 births per year. We provide both a regional and a national service for both fetal and maternal medicine.


The Maternal medicine service is well recognized as one of the best in Australasia, provided by a multidisciplinary team including obstetric physicians, neonatologists, obstetric anesthetists, high risk midwives and other specialists.

The Fetal medicine service serves a catchment of 40,000 births per year.

A multidisciplinary team of paediatric cardiologists, nurse specialists, fetal medicine midwives, sonographers and MFM specialists provide the national fetal cardiology service.


About the Role:

This role provides:

  • The opportunity for research, undergraduate teaching and postgraduate training in association with the Auckland University Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences and Auckland University School of Medicine.
  • High quality training towards RANZCOG CMFM in accredited training positions

You should be within 1 year of reasonable expectation of vocational registration in O&G with the Medical Council of NZ.

As a NZ Integrated Training Programme trainee of RANZCOG, you will either have been awarded FRANZCOG within the past 2 years or eligible for FRANZCOG within 12 months of appointment.
