Join our expert team of supportive, dedicated criminal lawyers, at our Wellington office, and learn from the best. The PDS is renowned for its well designed and embedded training programme.

You must be admitted to the bar.

As a junior lawyer you will:

  • Work on PAL 1 cases under supervision.
  • Provide support to senior and intermediate lawyers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships.
  • Provide Duty Lawyer services when qualified.

To be successful, you must be passionate about criminal justice issues and:

  • be passionate about criminal justice issues.
- enjoy exchanging ideas and brainstorming.
- be willing to provide support and light relief when required.
- have empathy and the ability to relate to a wide range of people.
- want to build your legal knowledge in a criminal law environment.

  • Be qualified to practise law in New Zealand.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $65,015 to $83,498 depending on experience.
