Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand Fluid Recruitment Limited Full time

Fluid Recruitment is proud to exclusively partner with PBA Consulting in an exciting growth phase. We're searching for an industry leader to take the lead on their Power Systems Planning & Advisory offering.

The Company

Born from PBA's legacy as an industry leader in HV services, PBA Consulting was established in 2021 as a forward thinking and dynamic consultancy. Their key areas of focus are on niche power system studies, developing solutions across system planning & advisory works, distribution engineering, and technology. PBA focus on solving the energy sector's most challenging and complex problems.

With an established team of renowned industry leading engineers and backing from the Unison Group, PBA are growing, further expanding their service offering across the energy sector. This is a remarkable opportunity to be a driving force in a growing organisation.

The Role

Taking lead on PBA's Power Systems Planning & Advisory offering, you will be technical leader, building upon the team's capability and developing your own team of specialists. In this role you will engage with domestic and international key clients, creating and developing relationships, utilising your technical expertise to understand their unique energy challenges. These will include technically complex power system planning studies , incident investigations, and HVDC link planning.

About You

Bringing extensive experience across the energy sector, you will be a driven technical expert, excelling as a Power Systems Engineer in your field. Having utilised Digsilent, Powerfactory, PSSE, PSCAD, or similar, you will have experience in both static & dynamic modelling for load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis. Utilising your ability to document and openly discuss technical solutions with clients is essential for this role.

This may see you in a senior or leadership position with another consultancy, seeking the opportunity to break away from the everyday norm, diversifying your project portfolio on a range of unique projects, exclusively available to PBA Consulting. Alternatively, you may be from a network background, working as a Network Planning Engineer, DSO Engineer, or people manager, seeking the opportunity to further develop your career in a progressive and exciting environment.

The Opportunity

As part of a team of renowned experts, this presents a unique opportunity to be a specialist, solely focused on the energy sector's most complex and technically challenging projects.

With PBA's core foundations built upon a team of industry leading experts, along with the financial backing from Unison, this is an outstanding opportunity for you to grow and develop a specialist service offering. With all profits being returned to New Zealand's electricity network, this is a great opportunity to be part of a unique organisation who benefit the community.

On offer is a highly competitive remuneration package inclusive of a market leading salary, working flexibility, additional KiwiSaver contributions, and Southern Cross Insurances.
