We are looking for two (2) casual presenters to join Waikato Regional Council's Ruben team.

As someone who enjoys working with tamariki, you'll deliver our Rūpene te Pea Haumaru Huarahi/Ruben the Road Safety Bear programme which aims to equip 3-7 year olds with foundation road safety skills in a way that is fun, informative, and memorable

You'll be reliable and highly organised.

Every day is a positive new experience, where you will be at pre-schools, primary schools, kohanga reo, kura, and community events teaching tamariki about staying safe on and around our roads.


This role will be awesome for someone working towards a career in teaching, a qualification in drama, looking for part-time work, or returning to work and is a great opportunity to grow in te reo maori competency.


Mō te tūranga | About the role

  • You will act and perform the role of Ruben the Road Safety Bear.
  • In this role, you will carry out key tasks and responsibilities of the Young Road User Safety Programme, as directed.
  • Ideally, you will have experience working with children and have a highenergy level personality.
  • Hours of work will predominantly be during school terms. Work is usually finished by 2pm each day.
