**About the role**
We are seeking a Kaiako to deliver the Hei Tikitiki / Hei Toki programme, which involves but is not limited to: developing lesson plans, presenting material to tauira (students), responding to tauira learning needs, and evaluating tauira progress. Some flexibility may be required to work some weekends and evenings
**About you**
The Kaiako will need to have sound knowledge and understanding of adolescent brain development and youth development approaches, proven success with positive outcomes for rangatahi, and proven ability to communicate and engage with a wide range of rangatahi and facilitate their achievement.
Ideally, applicants will have:
- Diploma (L5) in Youth Work or similar
- New Zealand Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching Level 5 (NZCATT L5) or equivalent, or be willing to complete during the first year of employment
- National Certificate in Adult Literacy & Numeracy Education Level 5 (NCALNE L5)
- Full and current NZ Driver Licence
- Clean Police Record
- 4+ years in a social services, or youth work or similar type role
- 4+ years working with Māori & Pasifika
- 4+ years in community engagement
- 4+ years participation in youth initiatives or projects
- Adult teaching experience
- Whilst teaching experience is highly valued at TWoA, newly qualified Kaiako with relevant qualifications but with no or limited previous teaching experience will also be considered._
**NOTE**:This position is classed as a Core Worker under the Vulnerable Children’s Act and will need to pass a safety check, inclusive of Police Vetting, under the Vulnerable Children’s Act 2014.**
