We need a talented Senior Legal Adviser to join our GCSB Legal Team in Wellington.

We can't reveal all the details of what you'll get to work on - but it will be complex and challenging, covering a wide range of operational and administrative activities for the GCSB, including those of the utmost sensitivity.

We're looking for someone who can provide excellent legal advice at a senior level (minimum of 8 years' post-qualification experience), is comfortable managing legal risk and has knowledge of public and administrative law.

You'll be able to accurately and concisely provide advice in our unique environment, demonstrating a principled and practical attitude to your work.

As well as your knowledge and a commitment to the Crown's te Tiriti o Waitangi partnership, you'll be mindful of its impact on GCSB's work and keep up with developments recognising tikanga and te Ao Maori in the law.

As a trusted adviser you'll be discreet, identifying and offering solutions to legal problems.

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years.

Alternatively you must hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.
