All about the job


As the Senior Sports Field Technician, you will help deliver the programme for the day-to-day management and maintenance of all sports fields and other turf areas as required throughout Porirua.


You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Turf Manager and Team Leader Sports Fields to present high class playing surfaces around Porirua
  • Stand in for the Team Leader in their absence, and assist in daytoday leadership of the team
  • Maintain and improve all designated sport and other turf surfaces to a high standard, in accordance with Service Level Agreement standards and Sports Codes requirements
  • Work in with the Turf Manager and Team Leader to plan work schedules including all aspects of turf Management including renovations
  • Managing customers' expectations to deliver the best results for all involved

It would be fabulous if you have experience managing a wide variety of surfaces and have a passion for Porirua City.

This role will give you a diverse range of daily activities to keep you on your toes. This role also provides you a platform to grow your turf knowledge and develop your career.

You'll need to show us that you:

  • have a passion for turf management and sports are eager to learn and
-your knowledge with others
- will bring a positive attitude to work, be punctual and motivated
- are comfortable working autonomously and have high attention to detail
- will engage with customers and stakeholders in a calm and positive manner
- hold a current and unrestricted NZ Drivers Licence
