As a Telecommunication Technician at GMC Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to deliver exceptional services to our clients.

With a weekly workload of at least 30 hours, this position offers a perfect balance between work and personal life.

As a Telecommunication Technician, your main job duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct site assessments and evaluate technical requirements for the installation of telecommunication equipment, including fiber optic communication systems, based on drawings, specifications, and work areas. This involves understanding the site's telecommunication needs, determining optimal fiber optic cable routing, and identifying necessary infrastructure for efficient data transmission.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques, including specialized meters, probes, and transmission testing equipment, to identify and troubleshoot faults in telecommunication equipment. This includes analyzing signal strength, checking for connectivity issues, and diagnosing any technical problems that may arise during installation or maintenance.
  • Skillfully connect and secure fiber optic cables to various telecommunication devices, ensuring efficient and reliable data transmission. This involves accurately splicing and terminating fiber optic connectors, carefully routing and organizing cables, and implementing proper cable management techniques to maintain optimal signal integrity.
  • Perform adjustments, replacements, and repairs on malfunctioning telecommunication equipment, utilizing electronic instruments to validate performance and ensure optimal functionality of fiber optic communication systems. This includes troubleshooting fiber optic connectivity issues, verifying power levels, and replacing faulty components to maintain reliable data transmission.
  • Deploy innovative methods and adhere to industry standards for the installation and routing of fiber optic cabling infrastructure. This involves implementing proper cable routing techniques, employing suitable connectors and terminations, and following industry best practices to ensure efficient fiber optic communication throughout the network.
  • Expertly join fiber optic cables and seal sheaths with precision, utilizing a variety of materials and techniques to ensure secure and protected connections. This includes fusion splicing or mechanical splicing of fiber optic cables, using appropriate materials for cable protection, and implementing proper sealing methods to safeguard against environmental factors.
  • Erect, test, and maintain aerial and underground fiber optic cables, ensuring consistent performance and adherence to safety protocols. This includes safely installing and maintaining fiber optic cables on poles, in conduits, or underground, performing cable tests to verify signal quality, and adhering to safety regulations and protocols during all installation and maintenance activities.
  • Install and configure a diverse range of telecommunications equipment and appliances, specifically focusing on fiber optic communication devices, such as transceivers, switches, and other data transmission devices. Ensure seamless integration and optimal operation of the fiber optic communication system within the broader telecommunication infrastructure.
  • Install and configure surveillance systems, including CCTV cameras and associated equipment, ensuring seamless integration with the telecommunication infrastructure. This involves mounting and positioning cameras in optimal locations, connecting cameras to the network or recording devices, configuring camera settings, and conducting thorough testing to ensure proper functioning of the surveillance system.

Salary:
$ $32.00 per hour
