As our new Electrical Engineer - Grid Connections, you'll be a vital part of the team who are changing the way we design and deliver major works to be carbon neutral and sustainable
Your role will include:
- Experience in the Renewable Energy industry consulting with asset owners, developers, suppliers, or power utilities is required.
- Project or engineering experience in the development of power plants or industrial plants, ranging from feasibility studies to concept or detailed designs, specification development, and tender evaluations, as well as leading design reviews and construction monitoring.
- Experience with wind and solar energy projects is highly regarded.
- A thorough understanding of the development and grid connection processes for largescale power projects.
- Extensive knowledge of other power generation technologies, such as energy storage, biofuels, or hydrogen, is advantageous.
- Understanding of major generation technologies
- Perform costeffective designs based on industry, company, and/or client standards.
- Generate design criteria, reports, design verifications, and clearance tables for PLS-CADD.
- Build and modify pole and tower models for PLS-CADD design.
- Conducting indepth power system/grid code compliance studies with tools like PSS/E, PSCAD, and Digsilent's PowerFactory
- Conducting grid connection due diligence, which includes grid prospecting, connection optioneering, risk assessment, and capacity/constraints analysis
- Develop construction assembly drawings, material selection, and structure loading packages for submittal to vendors.
- Attend external and internal meetings to support processes.
- Technical, communication, and time management abilities are required.

As well as experience in a similar electrical engineering roleSpecifically:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
- At least 23 years' experience designing and engineering transmission lines and substation
- Proficient in PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole and PLS-Tower,, PSS/E, PSCAD, and Digsilent's PowerFactory
- Able to perform transmission line engineering work independently
