Wellington, Wellington, New Zealand Jacobs Full time

Your Impact:

Water supports all life, and is the foundation of our environment, society and economy.

The management of our water resources is becoming increasingly critical as we see climate-related emergencies, like floods and drought, affecting communities across the World.

At Jacobs, our water business provides the full spectrum of consulting services from advisory and adaptative pathway planning through to engineering design and asset management - our scientists, engineers, planners and community engagement teams work collaboratively with clients, communities and traditional owners to find the right solutions to their water challenges.

We have an exciting opportunity for a
Graduate Water Resources Engineer to join our
Wellington Water Resources team in 2024.

You'll be working on projects for a range of clients across New Zealand and Australia, to assess surface water availability for the purposes of assessing the reliability of water supplies, to assessing and mitigating flood impacts due to new infrastructure.

This work will involve a wide range of tasks including technical analysis of data, spatial analysis and mapping, hydrologic (rainfall runoff) and hydraulic modelling, and report writing.

We will mentor you each step of the way to ensure you're set up for success.

Here's What You'll Need:

Ideally, by
January 2024 you'll hold a university degree in
Engineering and you possess a keen interest in surface water hydrology.

This is a unique role that requires applicants to hold the right to work in New Zealand.

Bring your curiosity, collaborative spirit, and strong communication skills, and we'll help you grow, pursue and fulfil what drives you - so we can make big impacts on the world, together.

Our 2024 Graduate Program

As a Graduate at Jacobs, you'll be a valued member of our team from Day 1 and work on real projects, bids and tenders from the get-go.

From gaining hands-on experience, to participating in networking events and structured learning sessions, you'll find new and inventive ways to help our clients make the world a better place.

Our teams offer a supportive environment to help you to learn, grow and excel.

Working under the guidance and mentorship of our experts and industry leaders, you'll develop the skills and knowledge to deliver the boldest solutions for the extraordinary and the everyday.

We see graduates as the future leaders of our business, which is why we're delighted to have placed #13 in the Australian Financial Review's Top 100 Graduate Employers award for '
Most Popular Employer' in 2023 No matter what drives you, you'll discover how you can cultivate, nurture, and achieve your goals - all at a single global company.
