Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Process water (and other) samples for microbiological and chemical analysis
• Calibrate and maintain lab equipment
• Maintain laboratory records, including the sample register, sample cards, workbooks, and files
• Check test results and enter data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
• Ensure that all work is carried out on time and to the required IANZ standard

Experience and skills:

• A relevant tertiary qualification and good understanding of basic principles and practices of qualitative and quantitative chemistry, microbiology, biology, and mathematics
• Previous handson experience in a commercial laboratory or high throughput environment such as hospitality
• IANZ experience and KTP experience advantageous
• Ability to cope and adapt to sudden change in work flow/routine
• Reliable, punctual, conscientious, and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good attention to detail and excellent computer skills
• Excellent time management, communication, and organisational skills
