Sports Doctors are the largest group of doctors specialising in Sport and Exercise Medicine in the South Island.

They offer a range of services including injury assessment, diagnosis and management and oversee treatment from allied health such as Physiotherapists and Podiatrists.

The clinic's doctors work in both in the Primary and Secondary/Specialist case systems.


Located at their brand-new, purpose-built Christchurch clinic, close to Hagley Park for some lunch-time exercise and just a 2-minute drive to the CBD, complete with an in-house gym, complementary for all employees to use.

They also currently operate two satellite clinics, one in Rolleston and the other in Rangiora.


The team of Doctors, Nurses and Administration staff come from diverse backgrounds with a variety of interests and areas of expertise, but all share the same value and vision of making Sports Doctors an enjoyable, safe and collaborative place to work.


With a vision to grow and expand their services, they are looking for a new Practice Manager to lead this successful practice and oversee the day-to-day operations to ensure its ongoing prosperity.


About the opportunity

In doing this you will:

  • Oversee accounts payable/receivable and manage associated reporting through the internal system
  • Reconcile daily inbound and outbound invoices, receipts and oversee external contracts
  • Manage HR functions such as onboarding support, performance development, role defining and streamlining of operational staff workloads
  • Analyse and improve HR and administration processes (systems development + implementation)
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Facilitate staff events and oversee the health and wellness function for employees.

To be successful in this pivotal role, you will be a people-focussed leader with experience across people and/or operational management.

A people-centric management approach will see you providing effortless, quality support to all employees across the practice. You will demonstrate astuteness in both financial acumen and administration-related activities to effectively manage these key business functions.


Your innate drive to make a positive impact in this fast-paced environment will be reflected in your continuous improvement mindset and ability to lead your team effectively to fulfill the goals of the practice.

A friendly and down-to-earth nature, with fantastic interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with external stakeholders and patients, will ensure your success in this role.

Organised and composed in your working style, you will be competent in the ability to multi-task across the different work streams of the practice to maintain flow of all business activities.
