Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role
The Team Leader Recruitment reports to the Sourcing and Selection Manager.

They will lead a team of 7 that includes senior recruitment advisors, recruitment advisors and recruitment coordinators that delivers recruitment and contingent engagement services.

This position is for 12 months fixed term or secondment.

The Team Leader will:

  • Coach, mentor and support the team, advising on complex queries or managing any escalation. Ensures that the team meets agreed service deliverables.
  • Manage the recruitment delivery for senior and/or critical roles with the support of the coordinators.
  • Work collaboratively with hiring managers to become trusted advisors, partnering with them throughout the recruitment process as you plan, develop, and support them on hiring the best permanent and fixed term talent into the Ministry.
  • Provide expert advice on the development and implementation of bestinclass sourcing and selection strategies.

To be a contender for these opportunities you will bring:

  • Relevant team leadership experience from an in-house/agency set-up
  • Recruitment skills (inhouse or agency) with strengths in talent sourcing, selection, engaging contractors, and the ability to take a consultative approach with senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of unconscious bias in recruitment and approaches to mitigate them
  • A real passion to uphold Te Tiriti and Diversity and Inclusion. You will be motivated to develop in this area and open to innovative recruitment approaches to ensure we are attracting and selecting diverse talent.
  • Great communication, problemsolving and an ability to deliver results.
  • Experience working with/in a large complex organisation.
Mātau rōpū ake | About our ministry, group, and team

At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whanau.

To better deliver on this, we are currently undergoing an organisational design change. The transition phase to improve the way we deliver our purpose will be complete in 2023.
