About the role


The primary focus of the Baling Plant Operations Manager is to ensure the safe, cost efficient and effective management of our Baling Plants and Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) operations nationwide.

You will actively demonstrate leadership, commitment, and personal involvement in ensuring sound process safety and risk management systems are established, implemented, and maintained at all baling plants.

In addition, excellent communication skills and be able to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the business are important attributes we're looking for.

Based predominantly at our Penrose operation, with 13 baling plants in major centres throughout New Zealand, domestic travel will be a requirement.


  • Ensure all baling, sorting, warehousing and despatching requirements are met at all FCR facilities
  • Ensure stock levels at mills and baling plants are managed efficiently
  • Actively review contract terms and conditions and ensure contract requirements are carried out
  • Dedicated focus to Health and Safety Management.

Skills & experience

  • Background in Operations and Project Management
  • Up to date with the H&S at Work Act 2015 and obligations of a PCBU
  • Great people and contractor management skills
  • Be adaptable in a fastchanging environment
  • Bring a positive, upbeat attitude and a drive to succeed.
