About the opportunity


We're looking for an experienced finance professional with a strong risk management and controls background to lead all aspects of finance controls and compliance.


Reporting into Financial Controller of Fonterra Brands New Zealand (FBNZ), you will provide support around financial risk management, controls and compliance as you develop and strengthen FBNZ's risk management framework.


A continuous improvement mindset is vital to not only ensure basic requirements are met, but also identify opportunities for improvement as you strive towards best in class.


Other responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with key leaders to support and maintain the overall risk management framework of FBNZ
  • Ensure key controls are operating effectively to mitigate or minimise FBNZ's exposure to various business risks.
  • Educate, enhance and upskill the business on Fonterra's risk and compliance obligations
  • Lead and project manage risk and compliance initiatives as and when required.
  • Key contact for internal audit and drive closure of audit issues
  • Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) coordination, reporting and completion of testing as required

What you will bring:


This is a fast-paced role with plenty of responsibility, so you'll need to able to work independently and confidently manage competing priorities to succeed.


You will bring in your expertise in establishing and maintaining risk management frameworks and mitigating business exposure to potential risks.

You will have a recognised tertiary and professional qualification and your previous experience within the Big 4 (or equivalent professional accounting services firms) or similar role in an FMCG environment will be an advantage.


You're also confident at building relationships with key stakeholders and leveraging this network to reach the best outcomes for the business.


Other key attributes include:

  • Previous experience in a Risk & Controls role, ideally within FMCG
  • Experience with SAP and business objects (or similar systems) preferred
  • Excellent communication, presentation and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to build strategic relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
