Your role


We are currently searching for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Projects and Technology team, based in New Zealand and supporting our manufacturing sites across the North and South Island.


Due to the dynamic nature of our business and this role, you could either be based at our Mount Maunganui manufacturing plant in the beautiful Bay of Plenty.

Otherwise, you can work from our NZ Head Office in Newmarket, Auckland. Travel to our sites in New Zealand will be required as projects continue to develop.


Reporting to our Head of Projects& Technology, this role will project manage sustenance and growth capital projects for our NZ manufacturing facilities.

You will provide technical expertise to our manufacturing sites and complete technical engineering work within projects.

Your responsibilities

  • Engineering support for manufacturing facilities and toll manufacturing initiatives
  • Project Management of suitably sized projects across the IXOM Sites
  • Ensure all allocated projects from the Project Program for the relevant financial year are completed on time and in budget
  • Raise Expenditure Proposal (EP) for each project responsible for and obtain approval/sanction from CAPEX panel
  • Purchasing and approving goods and services as required for Project or Engineering work
  • Assist with the investigation of Incidents and the implementation of Actions at IXOM Operations sites as required
  • Provide monthly update on budget and timeline for projects
  • Ensure quality project documentation is produced and uploaded into controlled document location

Your skills & experience

  • Tertiary qualified in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (ideally chemicals, or heavy, industrial manufacturing)
  • Strong engineering and technical background with experience in several disciplines
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and effective planning and organisational skills
  • Able to communicate at all levels of the organisation from executive leaders to operators
  • Strong skills in the Microsoft Suits (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) coupled with Power BI skills
  • Previous experience in project management
