About the opportunity
Our Clandeboye site is one of Fonterra's largest sites, operating since 1904 and employing over 1000 people.

It is also home to one of the biggest dryers in the world, capable of producing 28 metric tonnes of whole milk powder every hour.

The team fills more than 10,000 containers of dairy products every year, ready to be shipped across New Zealand and exported to more than 50 countries


As the Plant Manager for our Clandeboye Powder Plants, you'll be responsible for leading and inspiring the team to deliver world class manufacturing performance in powder products, including 6 direct reports and team of approximately 80 staff.

Reporting to the Site Operations Manager, you will be an integral part of the Site Leadership Team and work collaboratively to add value by implementing the site's strategic plans.


You'll coach and develop your team to enable them to achieve excellence in health and safety, food safety and quality, engagement, asset management, continuous improvement, sustainability and customer service.

  • Proven people leadership experience including ability to engage, inspire and coach others
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic mindset
  • Excellent communication, relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills including the ability to influence and work collaboratively crossfunctionally
  • Proven experience in developing and communicating business plans and goals to ensure continuous improvement.
A strong base of leadership experience in manufacturing will be key to your success. If you have dairy experience, even better, however, this is not essential.
