The roles require engaged and energetic applicants with a transformational mindset, to assist in re-imagining Māori rugby through strategic initiatives for Māori within the New Zealand Rugby (NZR) system.

Applicants should have competence in tikanga and/or te reo and demonstrate networks in Te Ao Māori and rugby leadership at the community or high-performance level.

An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how the provisions and principles can be applied in organisational contexts is also beneficial as NZMRB are developing a partnership approach with NZR and their members.

Governance or management experience in the sport, corporate, government, or health sector is also desirable.

Specific expertise in Maōri IP, HR, communication, digital marketing, data analytics, revenue generation, change management, and relationship-building with various stakeholders in rugby and Māori contexts would also add strength to the NZMRB's collective capabilities.

The successful applicant will need to engage with the Māori rugby community, and work closely with NZ Rugby stakeholders to ensure the Māori rugby and NZ Rugby system enable positive outcomes for Maōri.
