Mō mātou | About Us

The TREC-EC's current primary customer is the Network Enabled Army Programme (NEA), a long term (up to 12 years), large scale, high risk programme, which will have important outcomes for supporting NZDF operations.

The Programme will introduce into service a deployable, networked Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capability for the New Zealand Army.

The Programme will provide a catalyst for step changes in the way NZDF's Land Forces operate.

The Programme's investment objectives include maximising informed tactical decision making, providing commanders with effective situational awareness, reducing risk and enabling NZDF Land Forces to operate in a modern digital environment.

The TREC-EC is an enduring capability that provides the NEA Programme (and others) a facility to inform, test, evaluate and continuously improve the NZDF Networked Capability with new C4ISR technology.

Every hour of every day, 365 days of the year, the New Zealand Defence Force is contributing to the defence, security and well-being of Aotearoa / New Zealand.

As a modern, professional military, it is our goal to maintain well trained, equipped and disciplined armed forces that can react to crisis at short notice.
