Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and driven Social Worker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our clients' emotional and psychological needs, helping them navigate the challenges of recovery, and ensuring a well-rounded approach to their rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Support: Provide emotional and psychological support to clients undergoing sport rehabilitation, helping them manage stress, anxiety, and motivation challenges.
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments to identify clients' emotional and social needs, and develop personalized intervention plans in collaboration with the rehabilitation team.
  • Counselling: Offer individual and group counselling sessions to address issues related to injury, recovery, and reintegration into sport or daily activities.
  • Resource Coordination: Connect clients with additional resources, such as support groups, community services, and mental health professionals, as needed.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for clients' needs within the rehabilitation process and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive approach.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential records of client progress, treatment plans, and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree in social work from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Valid social work license in New Zealand.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably with experience in sports or rehabilitation settings.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients. Proficiency in crisis intervention and case management.
