Senior Dog Groomer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Dog Groomer to join our team. As a key member of our doggy daycare facility, you will be responsible for providing solo professional grooming services tailored to various dog breeds.

Responsibilities:

• Perform breed-specific grooming according to client specifications and industry standards.
• Expertly clean and express anal glands as needed during grooming sessions.
• Brush dogs' teeth to maintain oral health and fresh breath.
• Handle and restrain dogs safely and compassionately during grooming procedures.
• Monitor dogs for any signs of health issues or abnormalities and report to pet owners if necessary.
• Maintain high level of cleanliness and organization of grooming tools, equipment, and work area.
• Provide exceptional customer service by consulting with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and any special requirements for their dogs.

Grooming administration responsibilities:

• Maintaining client grooming notes/pictures.
• Answering grooming enquiries promptly & courteously.
• Help co-ordinate bookings, check-in, rebooking's and payments.
• Knowledge of Paw Partner software is an advantage, but not required.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a professional Dog Groomer, with expertise in breed-specific grooming techniques.
• Proficiency in bath washing, blow outs, de-sheds, anal gland expression, ear cleaning, nail trimming and teeth brushing.
• Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments with patience and care.
• Strong knowledge of different dog breeds, their grooming needs, and coat types.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and colleagues.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high quality grooming services.
• Certification from a reputable grooming school or equivalent experience preferred.
• A willingness to work on weekends occasionally would be an advantage but is not a requirement.

Employment is permanent and is for a minimum of 25hrs a week between 9:00am and 5/6:00pm Monday to Friday. The exact roster is open to negotiation.

Start date is flexible, but would ideally be the week of December 15th 2025.

Pay rate $30 to $35 per hour depending on experience.
