The role

Join us at Alpine Energy as a Live Line Mechanic and help keep South Canterbury connected. We have an opportunity for a skilled professional to maintain, construct, and repair live and de-energized overhead electricity lines and equipment. You'll install poles, transformers, and switches, perform fault response, and ensure compliance. This is a permanent role based in Timaru, offering opportunities to grow your skills and make a real impact.

As a Live Line Mechanic in our team, you will:

· Maintain and construct live and de-energized overhead electricity lines and pole-mounted equipment

· Perform network switching and 24/7 fault response when authorized

· Support smarter ways to deliver power and uphold ECP 46 safety standards

What you'll need

· Registration as a qualified Live Line Mechanic with current EWRB practising licence

· Experience in the electrical supply industry (Usually 5+ years)

· Class 2 NZ Driving Licence or above

Nice to haves

· NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply Level 4 (Fault Response)

· NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply Level 3 (Field Switching)

· Project management experience and PHC competency
