Over one million New Zealanders live with a respiratory condition such as asthma and COPD. The Asthma and Respiratory Foundation NZ (ARFNZ) is the country's leading authority on respiratory health, advocating for better care, education, and outcomes across Aotearoa. Alongside ARFNZ, you will also support the Kia Manawanui Trust (KMT) – an organisation focused on improving cardiac health outcomes by empowering healthcare professionals and patients.

To continue the vital work of both charities, we rely on sustainable funding streams  – and that's where you come in.

We are looking for a Grants and Fundraising Executive who thrives on writing compelling proposals, managing accountability reporting, and building strong funder relationships. This is a hands-on role for someone who can turn complex information into clear, persuasive applications – and who enjoys chasing down opportunities to support real, measurable impact.

What you'll do

  • Research, prepare, and submit high-quality funding applications to trusts, foundations, and other major grant providers
  • Manage all aspects of grant accountability reporting – accurate, timely, and persuasive
  • Maintain and grow relationships with key funders, partners, and stakeholders
  • Track funding deadlines, KPIs, and outcomes to ensure targets are met
  • Support the wider fundraising and marketing team to embed a results-driven culture

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in grant writing and reporting
  • Strong track record of securing significant funding through written proposals
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills – able to craft targeted, engaging cases for support
  • Solid project management and time management skills – you don't miss deadlines
  • The ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills, with a flair for turning data into persuasive narratives
  • A proactive, adaptable, team-focused attitude
