Got a taste for excellence and looking for a sweet new role? Cookie Time Limited (CTL) is on the hunt for an experienced Bakery Night Shift Team Leader for its Christchurch manufacturing plant. This is a full time role to lead the team on site during the after-hours production (4:00pm to around 1:00am), Monday to Friday with occasional overtime and weekend work required during busy times.

Food Safety and Quality is central to our business and we are looking for the right fit to keep our people and plant operating in top condition.
Reporting to the Nigh Shift Bakery Manager, this role involves working in a high performance and multi-cultural environment, achieving daily production requirements and targets. Our Night Shift Team Leader is responsible for leading, supporting and training the staff and working with Engineers to ensure that the team and machinery are operating effectively, in accordance with company practises / procedures, production is efficiently executed on a daily basis against the production planning and daily cleaning requirements are completed in compliance with company standards (hygiene and allergen swabs).
The successful applicant must have an eye for detail, an open mind, an absolute commitment toHealth & Safety, Food Safetyand continuous improvement and be able to lead a small manufacturing team. They will have a minimum of three years' experience in food manufacturing and machine operation plus the following attributes:
- Reliable, trustworthy and honest with high integrity.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Hands-on, solutions-focused and process oriented.
- Sound understanding about GMP and HACCP.
- Very good knowledge of chemical handling.
- Able to follow and reinforce company practises and procedures.
- High initiative and sound judgment in a vast range of situations.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
- Flexible and available to work long hours when required.
- Knowledge and experience with CTL manufacturing ERP system (Odoo).
- High level of personal hygiene.
This is a hands on role and the right candidate must have the willingness, knowledge and ability to operate a range of CTL machinery when necessary to cover for key staff absences. You have to be self-motivated and results oriented with strong English communication (both verbal and written), time management, leadership and analytical skills along with business acumen. You need to be approachable, friendly and professional with the flexibility to think on your feet and manage fast paced change in the work environment. The hourly rate for this position is NZ$30.00 per hour plus a shift allowance, with a minimum of 35 hours of work per week guaranteed.
