About the role;

Following the damage caused by Cyclone Gabrielle, a programme of recovery work is underway to restore bridges in the region. Join as a Project Engineer to lead delivery of a bridge project in a remote part of the Gisborne region, applying your civil engineering expertise and knowledge of NZ contracting standards to drive successful delivery. Because this role will be based in a very remote area in gizzy you will be accommodated, if you already live in the area and are looking for around 12-18 months with of secure career defining work then this is a great option for you.

Duties;

  • Manage project delivery from planning and reporting through completion (look-aheads, monthly planning).
  • Co-ordinate with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders and manage subcontractors effectively (instructions, variations, claims, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with NZ civil engineering standards and legislation
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and quality control measures
  • Provide technical guidance and resolve engineering challenges onsite

Skills & Experience;

  • Degree or qualification in Civil Engineering required.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in civil construction project delivery.
  • At least 3 years' experience specifically as a Project Engineer in NZ working on civil structural project.
  • Strong knowledge of NZ civil contracting business practices.
