Mo te tunga | About the role
As Assistant Retail Manager you'll support the overall running of the Te Hana shop, working closely with the Manager to ensure a fantastic experience for all donors, customers and volunteers. You'll be on your feet all day, working at pace to sort, price and merchandise donations. Importantly, you'll be in charge on the Manager's days off when you will take responsibility for time sheets, cashing up and banking. Every day, you will roll up your sleeves, lead by example to the volunteer team, and get involved in everything that's required in driving sales results to maximise income for Hospice.
This is a 12-month fixed term role working Thursday – Saturday 8:30am – 5pm (24 hours per week).

We're looking for someone who lives and breathes great customer service. Someone who is highly organised and enjoys working at a fast pace in a busy retail environment. You will:
- Demonstrate solid retail or customer service experience
- Love to get stuck in and take initiative
- Be able to build positive, on-going relationships with a wide range of people
- Have knowledge and ability to identify brands and items of value
- Not be fazed by the physicality the role requires
You'll also have flexibility to change your hours on the odd occasion, to cover leave and to provide extra support as needed.
