Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand ASSA ABLOY Group Full time NZ$80,000 - NZ$120,000 per year

Join ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions New Zealand — part of the global leader in access solutions — and help us shape the future of smart, secure, and sustainable products. You'll be part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.

About The Role
We're on the lookout for an onsite
Product Management Specialist
to support and execute our product strategy for the New Zealand market.

In this role, you'll work closely with our Australian Product Manager to provide market insights, competitor intelligence, and technical expertise. You'll also take ownership of NZ-specific product opportunities, leading the full development process from concept to launch.

We're seeking someone with hands-on experience managing products used in the built environment — ideally in door hardware, access control systems, or similar technologies. While direct experience in these areas is a plus, it's not essential.

What's important is your understanding of how products are specified, installed, and maintained in real-world settings — particularly within new construction or retrofit projects for professional end-user businesses. If you thrive in environments where product performance and customer outcomes matter, we'd love to hear from you.

You'll be part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide regular NZ market and competitor insights to the AU Product Manager.
  • Lead end-to-end product development for NZ-unique opportunities, following the Gateway (GW0–GW5) process.
  • Conduct customer and market research to validate business cases for new products.
  • Develop and deliver technical product training for sales and customer service teams.
  • Maintain accuracy of product data, marketing collateral, and training materials.
  • Support resolution of in-field product quality issues and ensure timely reporting.
  • Manage product lifecycle activities — from innovation and continuous improvement to end-of-life coordination.

About You
You're an analytical and curious professional who enjoys solving problems and identifying new product opportunities. You can balance technical understanding with commercial awareness and communicate effectively across teams.

To be successful, you'll bring:

  • 2–4 years' experience in Product Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of digital technologies, IoT devices, and wireless communication protocols.
  • Strong analytical, prioritisation, and project-management skills.
  • Experience in usability or customer-focused design.
  • A passion for product innovation and continuous improvement.

Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment will be highly regarded.

Why join us?
At ASSA ABLOY, we don't just open doors — we open opportunities.

You'll join a global organisation of nearly 61,000 colleagues across 70 countries, united by a shared purpose: to make the world safer, more secure, and easier to access. We offer career development, training, and the chance to grow your role locally or internationally.

We value diversity and inclusion and welcome applicants from all backgrounds who are ready to bring their ideas and energy to our team.
